Today we share a unique item from Epcot: the World Showcase International Coins set. This coin set dates back to the early 90’s when Epcot was still Epcot Center:
I’m not sure if they still sell these sets today, but doing a Google search, several different variants can be found.
Each coin is uncirculated. I can’t recall what this set sold for, but I’m sure it was reasonable. And it is a great collectible from an earlier era of Epcot.
Thank you for the information, Gaylin, I didn't know that about the Canadian penny. I've heard rumblings about the United States doing that for a while now also.
On our next trip, I'm going to see if they still make these sets, and will report on it here.
Nick, that is so cool to see. And it is truly going to be a collectors item soon, Canada has stopped producing pennies and they will be out of circulation soon. I wonder if any other countries have stopped producing those particular coins?
