We bought these cute little keepsake boxes in Walt Disney World many years ago. I can’t remember the price but they weren’t too expensive. We liked the ornate carving on the front and were quite taken with the added detail on the backsides of each.
Let’s have a look at the first one featuring everyone’s favourite flying Pachyderm, Dumbo:
Dumbo the Flying Elephant is an aerial carousel-style attraction located in the Fantasyland area of most Disney parks around the world. It’s based on the 1941 film, Dumbo. The original attraction opened at Disneyland on August 16, 1955. But Walt Disney World has two now!

The back shows the attraction ‘ride vehicles’ in flight with passengers clearly seen in the lowest one. Also above (right) you can see how the top of the keepsake box swivels open to give access to the treasures stored within.
All four sides of the Dumbo box feature carvings of the ‘magic’ feather that Dumbo originally thought he needed to fly. A nice touch!
From a nice touch to a musical touch, we now move on to The Country Bear Jamboree:
Thankfully, there is no blood on this keepsake box! But we are told that ‘Happiness is a Song’ and that Big Al is ‘Remarkable’. We’d have to agree with both sentiments!

The back of the box features renderings of Melvin, Buff, and Max. They are three ‘living’ mounted animal heads that hang above the theater exit doors for the attraction. Melvin is a slow-witted but good-natured moose, Buff is an impatient buffalo, and Max is a stag deer.
The sides of this box don’t really feature something themed to the attraction. It actually looks a bit like a coffin! Maybe this box is for the poor soul who left his blood in great big puddles all over the saddle and the ground. Creepy!
You can completely remove the lids for all of the boxes in this series. Two little magnets help to keep the lid in place so you don’t have to worry about tipping it over and losing any of your treasures.
Now to borrow some exit lines from the Country Bears:
