Post Titles

Most of the posts on DISLEELANDIA have no Category in the title. The title simply states what is to be found in the post, such as DIY Disney Pattern Decorative Pillow, which is pretty self-explanatory and serves to let you, the Reader, know what to expect if you choose to give it a click and a scroll.

But there are also special posts that have a Category that links them to a Series. So, I thought I would list these categories and explain what each one means:

HISTORY 101: These posts have a historical theme, like Mickey Mouse Welcomes the S. S. Normandy. This post recalls the event where a big balloon of Mickey Mouse was used to welcome a battleship into the New York port in 1935. It covers a significant event as well as a detail that makes it noteworthy for modern readers.

IN THE WILD: These posts feature vintage or used (usually) Disney merchandise that is found on the shelves of Antique Stores or Charity Shops that I find but do not choose to buy and add to my collection.

FOODIE FRIDAY: This popular tag from Social Media is what it appears to be. I cover food-related items in these posts, like food (duh), cooking merchandise, or restaurants. And yup, they only appear on a Friday!

FOUND DISNEY: These posts feature Disney-related things that I find in movies, on the streets, or elsewhere, like a life-sized Herbie car in a parking lot, or a Disney t-shirt on a beloved television character, like Danny Partridge from the Partridge Family show. I love finding Disney in unexpected places!

PEOPLE: This is one part of my three-part series unofficially called Nifty Nouns. A noun is a person, place, or thing. So with the People segment, I feature biographies of interesting persons or celebrity interviews.

PHOTO SPOT: I’m an amateur photographer and so I often share an interesting shot I’ve taken with a brief explanation of how I came to take it, and what I learned from the experience.

PLACES: This is the second part of my three-part series unofficially called Nifty Nouns. A noun is a person, place, or thing. So with the Places segment, I feature interesting places, like the Henry Ford Museum, Stonehenge, or a Zoo or two.

REVIEWS: I review just about everything! So you will find a variety of Reviews on this site. Such as: Book Reviews; CD Music Reviews; DVD / Blu-ray Reviews, and Movie Reviews, among others.

RETAIL: These posts feature new (usually) Disney merchandise that is found on the shelves of current retailers like Walmart or toy stores. These items are things I do not choose to add to my collection.

THINGS: This is the third part of my three-part series unofficially called Nifty Nouns. A noun is a person, place, or thing. So with the Things segment, I feature interesting exhibits, events, or performances. It could also be an object like an abandoned lighthouse, a piece of roadside junk, or the like.

THROWBACK THURSDAY: Unlike the History 101 posts, these Throwback posts don’t spend time on the historical significance of the subject, but simply cover something from the past, like an event in my past.

TRIP REPORT: I visit Theme Parks, museums, zoos, stores, and other interesting destinations and tell you what I saw, what I liked, and what I didn’t like. You can use these posts to determine if you would like to visit them yourself.

I hope this helps you to search the site more easily if you find a category / series that you like!
